Description: Black leather spine and corners on brown leather covered boards, 1,764 total pages. Volumes One and Two have an engraved frontis portrait of Webster, Volume Three does not have a frontis portrait. All three volumes have illustrations within the text. The latest date on the copyright page is 1864. All volumes are in similar condition: five raised bands on spines, marbled end pages (some of the end pages are loose), edges and corners very rubbed with small area of fray at tips of corners. Color page of naval flags, classified pictorial illustrations pages 1,697 to page 1,761 (There is a DEFECT here – a piece of page 1,694 is torn out and the following page is gone, the first page of illustrations has a piece missing). The last three pages are Ancient Alphabets and Remarkable Alphabets (these three page are loose but all there).
